Frequently Asked Questions
A subluxation occurs when a joint loses its normal motion, which can interfere with communication between the brain and the body. Because the spine houses the spinal cord and the origin of the peripheral nerves, chiropractors focus primarily on assessing and correcting motion within the spine.
Through specific chiropractic adjustments, we work to restore proper joint movement and support clear communication between the brain and body.
Anyone with a nervous system can benefit from having it assessed and supported.
Chiropractic care is not designed to treat specific diseases, but rather to improve the body’s ability to adapt to physical, chemical, and emotional stress. In our office, we provide individualized care plans tailored to each person’s goals, lifestyle, and stage of life.
The length of care varies from person to person and depends on your goals.
Some patients begin care for a specific concern and choose to continue with wellness-based visits once their initial goals are met. Others prefer periodic check-ins.
Because joints that lose motion over time can become stiff and less adaptable, many individuals choose regular care to support long-term function and resilience. We will always discuss recommendations openly and tailor them to your needs.
When performed by a trained and licensed chiropractor, chiropractic care is considered a safe and effective approach to supporting overall health and function.
We utilize a variety of techniques and adjust based on the individual’s age, history, and comfort level. Mild soreness can occasionally occur, particularly early in care, but most patients report feeling relaxed or refreshed afterward.
Serious complications are rare. We thoroughly screen for contraindications during your examination to ensure care is appropriate.
Yes. Chiropractic care for infants is extremely gentle and specifically adapted to a baby’s developing spine and nervous system. The amount of pressure used is often compared to the light touch you would use to check the ripeness of a tomato.
Babies can be evaluated and adjusted shortly after birth, whenever parents feel ready. Birth — whether vaginal or cesarean — places unique mechanical stress on a newborn’s spine and nervous system. Because of this, many families choose to have their baby checked early on to ensure optimal adaptation from the very beginning.
There is no required waiting period for an infant’s first adjustment. Care is always tailored to the individual child and delivered with the utmost gentleness and precision.
Dr. Gabrielle has completed advanced pediatric training through the ICPA to ensure care is appropriate and individualized for infants and children.
We do not accept insurance and do not provide superbills.
Insurance models are typically structured around symptom-based, short-term care. Our practice focuses on proactive, wellness-oriented care that supports long-term nervous system function — an approach that generally falls outside traditional insurance coverage.
We are happy to discuss our payment options and answer any questions about cost prior to beginning care.
A cavitation (the popping sound sometimes heard during an adjustment) is simply a change in pressure within a joint.
In our office, we primarily use manual techniques, and it is common to hear this sound. However, the presence or absence of a sound does not determine whether an adjustment was effective. Adjustments can be successful with or without a cavitation, depending on the technique and the individual.
We do not take X-rays in our office.
If our examination indicates imaging may be necessary, we will refer you to a trusted local facility. X-rays are not routinely required and are only recommended when clinically appropriate.
Chiropractic adjustments are not intended to be painful. Most patients describe feeling relief, improved mobility, or deep relaxation after an adjustment.
That said, some people — particularly in the early stages of care or during acute phases — may experience temporary soreness or a brief increase in symptoms. This can feel similar to post-workout soreness and typically resolves within 24–48 hours.
As the nervous system adapts and patterns of tension and compensation begin to change, these responses tend to lessen. We always tailor care to your comfort level and communicate openly about what you’re experiencing.
Yes. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is tailored to the mother’s stage of pregnancy and comfort level. Specialized techniques and positioning are used to ensure safety and support pelvic balance.
